On 2^nd December 2021, the president of Tanzania Red Cross Society Hon. David M. Kihenzile welcomed cyclists from East and Southern Africa who have arrived at the offices of the Tanzania Red Cross Society Headquarters in Dar es Salaam to thank TRCS for its contribution on humanitarian services while heading to the commemorative memorial celebration of 60 years of Tanzania Mainland Independence.

Hon. president of TRCS congratulated them on celebrating 60 years of Independence of Mainland Tanzania by cycling from Zanzibar to Dar es Salaam, Coastal regions, Lindi and Mtwara while promoting the issue of Blood Donation and COVID-19 vaccine to the citizens of the visited regions by supporting the government's efforts in accessing safe blood and the COVID-19 vaccine.

In the cycling competition, TRCS will be involved in first aid provision, mobilizing blood donations, encouraging citizens to acquire COVID-19 vaccine and insuring the availability of an ambulance.

     TRCS AND UNICEF COLLABORATION ON JAMBO LA CHANJO PROJECT

Today, 5^th October 2021, TRCS in collaboration with UNICEF on JAMBO LA CHANJO Project, conducted a training to use the digital system (U-Report Portal) to some of the Tanzania Red Cross Volunteers from various regions where these Volunteers will now be able to answer basic questions to people via SMS about COVID 19 Vaccination.

Soon after this training we will be ready to launch this project across the country where now people will be able to ask various questions about COVID 19 Vaccination and get the right answers instantly from the Tanzania Red Cross Volunteers and expert stakeholders via SMS.

Tanzania Red Cross Society in collaboration with Standard Chartered Bank conducted a blood donation exercise at the Bank's headquarters located at Posta area in Dar es Salaam.

This exercise is the result of the good cooperation that exists between these organizations where the exercise was coordinated by the PR &Communications Unit of TRCS in collaboration with the Department of PR &Communications, Standard Chartered Bank.
