Tanzania Red Cross Society (TRCS) is the humanitarian; non-for–profit organization established in Tanzania by the Act of Parliament number 71 of 1962 and is mandated to play specific voluntary humanitarian roles during disaster/ emergencies and in peace time as an auxiliary organization to the Government.

TRCS is an auxiliary to the Government in the provision of humanitarian services at any place where needed without discrimination and as per guidance provided under the enabling legislation and Geneva Convention of 1949 and its additional protocols of 1977 and 2005.

Any person can become a member of Tanzania Red Cross Society by following an appropriate registration procedure.

Become a member of Tanzania Red Cross Society through different registration channels:

1. Visit the closest TRCS Sub branch countrywide for membership registration.
2. Visit TRCS website on www.trcs.or.tz  and get an access to the membership system for registration OR join registration via this link https://member.trcs.or.tz/  by clicking register now and fill the requirements.
3. In items 1 & 2 you need to pay membership fee (Through mobile phone/payment system Tigo pesa, M-pesa or Airtel money. start entering your control number 999****** followed by company’s number 700500)

A Volunteer is any person who is freely offer to do something for the community services.

TRCS MEMBERSHIP FEES STRUCTURE:

(a)Ordinary members:  are obliged to pay an annual fee at the rate set by the National Executive Committee that is 3500Tshs.

(b)Life members are required to pay life membership fee as per the rate set by the National Executive Committee after every five years that is

Diamond -1,000,000 Tshs

Gold -500,000 Tshs

Silver -300,000Tshs

(c)Youth members are those whose ages fall between 5 and 30 years and are registered at the Youth Centres of the National Society.

Primary schools -500 Tshs

Secondary school-1000 Tshs

University & Colleges-2500Tshs

Disaster Risk Management, Disaster Response and Operations, COVID-19 pandemic, Cash and Voucher Assistance (CVA) Programming “TRCS IS CASH READY”  and Promoting Community Engagement and Accountability

2.HEALTH SERVICES MANAGEMENT:

Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Promotion ,First Aid services and products, Voluntary Blood Donation services, Diseases Prevention and Control, Community Health and Refugees Relief Operations

3.ORGANIZATION DEVELOPMENT:

In line with this goal, the department helps to build strong branch networks, improve governance, strengthen youth progammes, streamline membership and volunteer management and improve knowledge and awareness of the Red Cross to gain public supporters and engagement.

NB: First aid training is offered to groups of people with a recovery fee which depends on the Training Package.

Certificate of competence is provided to the candidates who have passed the practical’s and theory test.

As part of the Red Cross and Red Crescent ,IFRC has provided an on-line learning platform with diverse topics relevant to the humanitarian context which is accessible to all members for free.
