The Tanzania Red Cross Society (TRCS) has continued its humanitarian efforts by providing relief assistance to families affected by floods in Rungwe District, Mbeya Region, as part of its commitment to helping communities recover and return to normal life.

The relief distribution exercise was led by the Secretary General of the Tanzania Red Cross Society, Ms. Lucia Pande, who joined affected communities to offer support and solidarity during the difficult period following the floods.

Speaking during the exercise, Ms. Pande conveyed her sympathies to both the affected families and the Government following the disaster. She reaffirmed TRCS’s commitment to standing with Tanzanians during times of crisis, emphasizing the organization’s role as an auxiliary to the Government in humanitarian services.

During the distribution exercise, TRCS handed over essential relief items including 100 mattresses, 100 blankets, 100 hygiene kits, and 49 jerry cans to support affected families in the district.

The assistance is expected to play a significant role in restoring hope among affected households and helping them cope with the challenges caused by the floods.

Some of the beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to TRCS, noting that the support has brought them comfort and renewed hope as they work to rebuild their lives after the disaster.
